THE SALMON BAKE

(Photo taken by Steve McKnight at the 1999 Salmon Bake.)

The Anderson Island Historical Society's Annual Salmon Bake and Rib BBQ is held the Week-end in July closest to the 4th. It started back in 1963 when the Anderson Island Boat Club decided to have a salmon derby. Thus, a tradition was born.

As always, we need volunteers to help with this event. Call Bob Garmire at 884-6976 if you can help. We have been serving around 800 dinners a year at this event, so you can see that we need all the help we can get!

There will be caramel apples, several chances to win great stuff at a raffle, and a silent auction.

So, bring your appetite and enjoy this great event the closest Saturday to the 4th. of July each year!

THE APPLE CIDER SQUEEZE

The Apple Cider Squeeze is held at the Anderson Island Historical Society's Johnson Farm each fall. It is held one Saturday in October each year. It is a fun event, looked forward to by everyone on the island. The Farm has now started an orchard and is growing its own apples for this yearly event.

As always, the money from all events goes to keep up the Museum and make improvements to the grounds.

Be sure to attend if you can!
